Is texting a form of new media? In some ways it does have that viral effect as messages can be sent in mass quantities from numerable users. Also companies are starting to use texting as a form of advertising. Just something to chew on.

In an interesting way these ads parallel the drink responsibly ads that beer companies put out. The ad looks at the consequences of the product and gives the impression that these companies care.
In light of this I’m wondering if we stop and think about many of the consequences of new media. What we say and do online is amplified and scrutinized. Therefore we need to be careful. James Lipton is right, before you use new media, “Give it a ponder.”
